Amendment of section 21
The principal Act is amended by renumbering section 21 as subsection (1) of that section, and by inserting immediately thereafter the following subsection:“(2) In particular and without prejudice to the generality of the powers conferred by subsection (1), regulations may be made to —
regulate any advertisement in relation to any totalisator, lottery, betting or gaming activity of —
the Board;
any totalisator agency; or
any agent appointed by the Board;
prescribe the offences which may be compounded; and
provide that any person who contravenes the regulations shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $5,000 and, in the case of a second or subsequent conviction, to a fine not exceeding $10,000.”.
