Clause 25

Search of person

(1)

This section shall apply only if the notification under section 22(2) relating to the special event to be held at a special event area states that it is a condition of entry to the special event area that an entrant to the area must, if asked by a police officer, permit a search to be made of the person.

(2)

A police officer may ask a person to permit a search of the person where —

(a)

the person is entering or about to enter a special event area; or

(b)

the person is in a special event area.

(3)

Any person who fails to comply with the request of a police officer under subsection (2) shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $10,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 6 months or to both.
