Clause 26

Section 54 of the principal Act is amended by inserting, immediately after subsection (2), the following subsection:“(2A) Where an order made by the Juvenile Court in respect of a child or young person under section 44(1) has been contravened, the Juvenile Court may, notwithstanding that the person is above the age of 16 years (but below the age of 19 years) at the time of the contravention, order that the person be remanded in a remand home pending any further order by the Court on how he is to be dealt with.”.
