Amendment of section 87

Section 87 of the principal Act is amended by deleting subsection (2) and substituting the following subsection:“(2) Where the Director or a police officer not below the rank of sergeant receives any notification under subsection (1), the Director or police officer may, without prejudice to any other power conferred on him by this Act, transmit any information contained in the notification to —

(a)

a protector or any other person assisting the Director in the administration or enforcement of this Act; and

(b)

any other person or class of persons specified by the Director,in order that the protector or person may take such action as may be necessary in accordance with this Act to ensure that the child or young person concerned receives the care or protection that he needs.”.
