Amendment of section 34
Section 34(1) of the principal Act is amended by deleting the words “a sum not exceeding $2,000.” and substituting the following words:“a sum not exceeding —
(a)
one half of the amount of the maximum fine that is prescribed for the offence; or
(b)
$2,000,whichever is the lower.”.
