Amendment of section 51
Section 51 of the principal Act is amended —
(a)
by deleting the words “person in charge of a public office, except a police officer” in subsection (1) and substituting the words “public officer or officer of a statutory body”; and
(b)
by inserting, immediately after subsection (2), the following subsection:“(2A) Subsection (1) does not apply to —
(a)
a police officer; or
(b)
such other public officer or officer of a statutory body as the Minister may by order published in the Gazette exempt from that subsection.”.
