Amendment of section 83

Section 83 of the principal Act is amended —

(a)

by deleting the words “or any other advocate and solicitor” in subsection (2)(d) and substituting the words “, of any other advocate and solicitor or, in relation only to the practice of Singapore law, of any foreign lawyer registered by the Attorney-General under section 130I”;

(b)

by deleting the words “or any advocate and solicitor” in subsection (2)(e) and substituting the words “, of any advocate and solicitor or, in relation only to the practice of Singapore law, of any foreign lawyer registered by the Attorney-General under section 130I”;

(c)

by deleting paragraph (g) of subsection (2); and

(d)

by deleting the words “A qualified person who is serving his practice training period” in subsection (3) and substituting the words “Every practice trainee, and every qualified person in respect of whom an application under section 32(3) has been granted,”.
