Amendment of section 29
Section 29 of the Immigration Act is amended —
(a)
by deleting the words “Government medical officer” in subsections (1), (2) and (3) and substituting in each case the words “registered medical practitioner”; and
(b)
by deleting subsection (8) and substituting the following subsection:“(8) In this section, “registered medical practitioner” means a medical practitioner registered under the Medical Registration Act (Cap. 174) who is employed in any hospital or medical institution and is designated by name or office by the Controller in writing for the purposes of this section.”.
