Amendment of section 57

Section 57 of the principal Act is amended —

(a)

by deleting the words “stamps spoiled” in subsection (1) and substituting the words “the duty paid”;

(b)

by deleting paragraph (a) of subsection (1);

(c)

by deleting the words “the stamp used for” in subsection (1)(b);

(d)

by deleting the word “relief” in subsection (2)(a) and substituting the word “allowance”;

(e)

by deleting subsection (3); and

(f)

by deleting the words “spoiled stamps” in the section heading and substituting the words “duty paid for certain instruments”.
