Amendment of section 22E

Section 22E of the principal Act is amended —

(a)

by deleting the words “Discipline Panel” in subsections (1) to (5) and substituting in each case the words “Inquiry Panel”;

(b)

by deleting the words “Investigation Committees” in subsection (1) and substituting the words “Inquiry Committees”;

(c)

by deleting the word “investigation” wherever it appears in subsection (5) and substituting in each case the word “inquiry”;

(d)

by deleting the words “Investigation Committee” in subsection (5) and substituting the words “Inquiry Committee”;

(e)

by inserting, immediately after subsection (5), the following subsection:“(6) Each person who, immediately before the date of commencement of section 24 of the Fire Safety (Amendment) Act 2013, is a member of the Fire Safety Engineers Discipline Panel appointed under this section shall be deemed to have been appointed as a member of the Fire Safety Engineers Inquiry Panel for a term expiring on the date when his term would have expired if section 24 of the Fire Safety (Amendment) Act 2013 had not been enacted.”; and

(f)

by deleting the words “Discipline Panel” in the section heading and substituting the words “Inquiry Panel”.
