Related amendment to Evidence Act
Section 114 of the Evidence Act (Cap. 97, 1997 Ed.) is repealed and the following section substituted therefor:“Rebuttable presumption of paternity114.—
(1)
Where any person was born —
(a)
during the continuance of a valid marriage between his mother and any man; or
(b)
within 280 days after the dissolution of the marriage, the mother remaining unmarried,it shall be presumed that the person is the legitimate child of that man, unless the contrary is proved.(2) Subsection (1) shall not apply to a person whose parenthood is determined under the Status of Children (Assisted Reproduction Technology) Act 2013.”.
