Clause 21

The Prisons Act is amended by deleting the word “Director” wherever it appears in the following provisions and substituting in each case the word “Commissioner”:Sections 5(1), 6(1) and (2) and section heading, 7(1) and (2), 21, 22 and section heading, 24, 25, 26, 39(1) and (2) and section heading, 42(1) and (2), 43(1) and (2), 44(1), (3) and (5), 50A, 50C(1) and (2), 51 (definition of “home detention order”), 57(1), 60(2), 71(2), (3), (4), (5) and (6) and 84(2)(l).

Section 53(1) of the Prisons Act is amended by deleting the words “the Schedule” in paragraph (b) and substituting the words “the Second Schedule”.

Where in any written law or contract or other document, reference is made to the Director of Prisons or the Deputy Director of Prisons, such references shall be read as references to the Commissioner of Prisons and the Deputy Commissioner of Prisons, respectively.
