Clause 4

Amendment of section 11

Section 11 of the principal Act is amended —

(a)

by deleting the words “for the purposes of this Act” in subsection (1) and substituting the words “for the effective performance and discharge of its functions and duties,”; and

(b)

by deleting subsection (2) and substituting the following subsections:“(2) The Board may appoint, by name or office, from among —

(a)

public officers;

(b)

officers and employees of the Board;

(c)

officers and employees of a public authority; and

(d)

auxiliary police officers appointed as such under the Police Force Act (Cap. 235),such number of inspecting officers as may be required for the purposes of this Act and any regulations made thereunder.(3) In this section, “public authority” means any board, authority or agency established by or under any public Act to perform or discharge any public function.”.
