Clause 16

by deleting the words “prescribed by the Minister” in the definition of “breath test” in subsection (1) and substituting the words “approved by the Deputy Commissioner of Police”;

by inserting, immediately after subsection (1), the following subsections:“(1A) Once a device is approved by the Deputy Commissioner of Police for the purposes of the definition of “breath test” in subsection (1), he must, as soon as practicable, cause to be published in the Gazette a notification specifying each device so approved by him.(1B) However, failure to comply with subsection (1A) in respect of any device does not invalidate the approval for that device.”; and

by inserting, immediately after the words “sections 67 to 71B” in the section heading, the word “, etc.”.
