Clause 18
Transitional provisions
(1)
A person designated as a Judge of the High Court or as a Judge of Appeal under Article 94(3) of the Constitution immediately before the date of commencement of sections 7 and 8 shall continue to hold office in accordance with the terms of his appointment and as if he were appointed under clause (2) of Article 95 of the Constitution as amended by section 8.
(2)
A person appointed as a Judicial Commissioner of the Supreme Court under Article 94(4) of the Constitution immediately before the date of commencement of sections 7 and 8 shall continue to hold office in accordance with the terms of his appointment and as if he were appointed under clause (4)(a) of Article 95 of the Constitution as amended by section 8.
(3)
The amendments in sections 4, 10(g), 12 and 15 do not apply to or in relation to any person who is the Attorney‑General, the Chief Justice, a Judge of Appeal or a Judge of the High Court, a member of the Public Service Commission or the Auditor‑General immediately before the respective date of commencement of any of those sections.
