Amendment of section 25

Section 25 of the principal Act is amended —

(a)

by deleting the words “by the Attorney-General under section 130N” in subsection (1)(a)(iii) and substituting the words “under section 36E”;

(b)

by deleting paragraph (b) of subsection (1) and substituting the following paragraph:“(b)a declaration in writing stating —

(i)

that he has paid, or has made arrangements to pay, all subscriptions and levies, and all contributions to the Compensation Fund, lawfully due to the Society under sections 46 and 75;

(ii)

that he has complied with or is exempt from the rules relating to professional indemnity made under section 75A;

(iii)

if he has been ordered by the Council to pay any penalty under Part VII, that he has paid the penalty;

(iv)

if he has been ordered by any court of law in Singapore or elsewhere to pay any sum to the Council or the Society, that he has paid the sum; and

(v)

that he has complied with such requirements as may be prescribed by the Council in any rules made under section 59(1)(aa);”;

(c)

by deleting the words “certificate from the Academy that he has paid” in subsection (1)(c) and substituting the words “declaration in writing stating that he has paid, or has made arrangements to pay,”; and

(d)

by inserting, immediately after the words “sections 25A” in subsection (2), the word “, 25AA”.
