Clause 34

Power to give directions

(1)

For the purpose of carrying out the provisions of this Act, the Registrar may give written directions, either of a general or specific nature, to a licensee.

(2)

The Registrar may, in particular, give directions setting out the manner in which a licensee is to conduct the business of pawnbroking.

(3)

A licensee which fails or refuses to comply with a direction under subsection (1) shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $20,000.

(4)

A direction under subsection (1) need not be published in the Gazette.
