Providing false information to Registrar
(1)
A person —
(a)
must not provide to the Registrar, for the purposes of this Act, any information that the person knows or has reason to believe is materially false or misleading; and
(b)
must not omit to provide any information to the Registrar for the purposes of this Act, if the person knows or has reason to believe that such omission will create a materially false or misleading impression.
(2)
A person who contravenes subsection (1)(a) or (b) shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $40,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 months or to both.
