Saving and transitional provisions
(1)
Section 5 does not apply to any application to the court for an order under section 17 of the principal Act made before the date of commencement of section 5, and section 17 of the principal Act as in force immediately before that date continues to apply to any such application as if section 5 had not been enacted.
(2)
Section 6 does not apply to any application to the court for an order under section 20(8) of the principal Act made before the date of commencement of section 6, and section 20(8) of the principal Act as in force immediately before that date continues to apply to any such application as if section 6 had not been enacted.
(3)
Section 16(a) and (b) does not apply to any application for registration of an instrument intended to create a lasting power of attorney that is received by the Public Guardian before the date of commencement of section 16(a) and (b), and paragraph 10(2), (3) and (4) of the First Schedule to the principal Act as in force immediately before that date continues to apply to any such application as if section 16(a) and (b) had not been enacted.
(4)
For a period of 2 years after the date of commencement of any provision of this Act, the Minister may, by regulations, prescribe additional provisions of a saving or transitional nature consequent on the enactment of that provision.
