Amendment of Singapore Armed Forces Act
The Singapore Armed Forces Act (Cap. 295, 2000 Ed.) is amended —
by repealing section 99 and substituting the following section:“Certificate relating to controlled drug or controlled substance99.—
A certificate purporting —
to be signed by —
an analyst employed by the Health Sciences Authority;
a person appointed under section 16(a)(ii) of the Misuse of Drugs Act (Cap. 185);
a Singapore Armed Forces pharmacist or chemist; or
such other person as the Minister may, by notification in the Gazette, appoint; and
to relate to a controlled drug or controlled substance,is to be admitted in evidence in any proceedings under this Act for an offence under section 34, or under the Misuse of Drugs Act, on the production of the certificate by the prosecution without proof of signature and, until the contrary is proved, is proof of all matters contained in the certificate.(2) In this section —“controlled drug” and “controlled substance” have the same meanings as in section 2 of the Misuse of Drugs Act;“Health Sciences Authority” means the Health Sciences Authority established under section 3 of the Health Sciences Authority Act (Cap. 122C).”; and
by repealing section 100.
