Clause 18

by deleting the word “and” at the end of section 17(e);

by deleting the full‑stop at the end of paragraph (f) of section 17 and substituting the word “; and”, and by inserting immediately thereafter the following paragraph:“(g)jurisdiction under the Mediation Act 2016 to record a mediated settlement agreement made in a mediation, in relation to a dispute for which no proceedings have been commenced in a court, as an order of court.”;

by renumbering section 17 as subsection (1) of that section, and by inserting immediately thereafter the following subsection:“(2) In this section, “mediated settlement agreement” and “mediation” have the same meanings as in the Mediation Act 2016.”; and

by deleting the words “section 17(b) or (c)” in section 28A(2)(a)(ii) and substituting the words “section 17(1)(b) or (c)”.
