Compliance with Minister’s orders and notices under this Part
(1)
The owner of any premises who is issued an order or a notice under this Part must comply with every direction in that order or that notice.
(2)
Where the premises has more than one owner at any time, each of those persons is jointly and severally responsible at that time for discharging the duties of the owner under this Act.
(3)
Any person who contravenes subsection (1) shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $100,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 5 years or to both and, in the case of a continuing offence, to a further fine not exceeding $2,500 for every day or part of a day during which the offence continues after conviction.
(4)
In this section, a reference to the owner of any premises who is issued an order or a notice includes a reference to a person who becomes the owner of that premises after that order or that notice is issued.
