Clause 26

Saving and transitional provisions

(1)

Every licence that —

(a)

is issued, before the date of commencement of section 11, under Part IV of the principal Act as then in force; and

(b)

is in force immediately before that date,is, so far as it is not inconsistent with the provisions of the principal Act as amended by this Act, to continue as if, and is to be treated as, a licence to carry on a non‑retail food business issued under the principal Act as so amended.

(2)

Where —

(a)

an application for a licence under Part IV of the principal Act is made before the date of commencement of section 11; and

(b)

the application was not granted or approved before that date,the application is, where applicable, deemed to be an application under Part IV of the principal Act as amended by section 11.

(3)

For a period of 2 years after the date of commencement of any provision of this Act, the Minister may, by regulations, prescribe such additional provisions of a saving or transitional nature consequent on the enactment of that provision as the Minister may consider necessary or expedient.
