Amendment of section 101
Section 101 of the principal Act is amended by inserting, immediately after subsection (1), the following subsection:“(1A) For the purposes of subsection (1), use of a motor vehicle as a private hire car includes a motor vehicle that —
(a)
is in use in connection with a hiring to provide a ride‑sourcing service (within the meaning of section 110A); or
(b)
is immediately available to a private hire car booking service operator (within the meaning of section 110A) to accept bookings from passengers for a ride‑sourcing service using that vehicle.”.
