Amendment of section 8
Section 8 of the principal Act is amended —
(a)
by deleting paragraph (b) of subsection (1) and substituting the following paragraph:“(b)such other members appointed by the chairman in accordance with subsections (2) and (3).”; and
(b)
by inserting, immediately after subsection (2), the following subsection:“(3) At least 6 individuals must be appointed under subsection (1)(b) as appointed members of a Town Council, but the maximum number that may be so appointed is the higher of the following:
(a)
10 for each Member of Parliament required to be returned at any parliamentary election for each constituency comprised in the Town of that Town Council;
(b)
30.”.
