Clause 71

Amendment of section 2

Section 2 of the Street Works Act (Cap. 320A, 1996 Ed.) is amended —

(a)

by deleting the definition of “competent authority” and substituting the following definition:“ “competent authority” means any person who is appointed under section 5 of the Planning Act (Cap. 232) for the purposes of Part III of that Act;”; and

(b)

by inserting, immediately after the definition of “occupier”, the following definition:“ “outsourced enforcement officer”, in relation to any provision of this Act or regulations made under this Act, means an individual who —

(a)

is appointed under section 11 of the Land Transport Authority of Singapore Act;

(b)

is authorised by or under that Act to exercise any powers under any provision of this Act or regulations made under this Act, as the case may be; and

(c)

is acting within that authorisation;”.
