Clause 262
False and misleading statement
Any person who, for any purpose under Parts 4 to 11 —
(a)
lodges or files with or submits to the Registrar of Companies any document; or
(b)
authorises another person to lodge or file with or submit to the Registrar of Companies any document,knowing that document to be false or misleading in a material respect, shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $50,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 2 years or to both.
