Clause 500

Amendment of Pawnbrokers Act 2015

The Pawnbrokers Act 2015 (Act 2 of 2015) is amended —

(a)

by deleting the words “Companies Act” in section 2(2)(a)(v) and substituting the words “Insolvency, Restructuring and Dissolution Act 2018 or any previous written law”;

(b)

by inserting, immediately after paragraph (c) of section 29(1), the following paragraph:“(ca)an application has been made to the court for an order under section 71 of the Insolvency, Restructuring and Dissolution Act 2018 in respect of the licensee;”;

(c)

by deleting the words “Companies Act (Cap. 50)” in sections 29(1)(d) and 40(b) and substituting in each case the words “Insolvency, Restructuring and Dissolution Act 2018”;

(d)

by inserting, immediately after paragraph (d) of section 29(1), the following paragraph:“(da)a written notice of the appointment of an interim judicial manager has been lodged under section 94(5)(a) of the Insolvency, Restructuring and Dissolution Act 2018 in respect of the licensee;”; and

(e)

by deleting the words “Companies Act” in section 29(1)(e) and substituting the words “Insolvency, Restructuring and Dissolution Act 2018”.
