Amendment of section 48A
Section 48A of the principal Act is amended —
(a)
by deleting subsection (3) and substituting the following subsection:“(3) The Returning Officer must cause notice of every direction made under subsections (1) and (2) to be published in the Gazette at least 2 clear days before polling day.”; and
(b)
by deleting the words “writing to each candidate or his election agent” in subsections (4) and (5) and substituting in each case the words “the Gazette”.
