Amendment of section 79
Section 79 of the Electricity Act is amended —
(a)
by deleting the words “other than an electricity licensee” in subsection (1); and
(b)
by inserting, immediately after subsection (2), the following subsection:“(2A) Subsection (1) does not prohibit an electricity licensee from commencing or carrying out earthworks within the vicinity of any low voltage electricity cable that belongs to or that is under the management or control of the electricity licensee.”.
