Amendment of section 307

Section 307 of the Penal Code is amended by deleting subsection (1) and substituting the following subsection:“(1) Whoever does any act with the intention of causing death and under such circumstances that if he by that act caused death he would be guilty of murder, shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to 15 years, and shall also be liable to fine; and if hurt is caused to any person by such act, the offender shall be punished with —

(a)

imprisonment for life and shall also be liable to caning; or (b)imprisonment for a term which may extend to 20 years, and shall also be liable to fine, or to caning or to both.”.
