Clause 111

Amendment of Defamation Act

The Defamation Act is amended —

(a)

by deleting the word “plaintiff” wherever it appears in the following provisions and substituting in each case the word “claimant”:Section 5Section 6(1)(a) and (b)Section 7(1)(b)Section 8Section 10(1) and (2)Section 12(2)Section 16 and section headingSection 17(3) and (5)Section 18Section 19;

(b)

by deleting the word “plaintiff’s” in the following provision and substituting the word “claimant’s”:Section 8; and

(c)

by deleting the word “execution” in the following provision and substituting the words “an enforcement order”:Section 18.
