Clause 12

Amendment of section 36

Section 36 of the Patents Act is amended —

(a)

by deleting the words “during the period of 6 months immediately following the end of the prescribed period” in subsection (3) and substituting the words “, during the prescribed period immediately after the end of the period prescribed for the payment of any renewal fee under subsection (2),”; and

(b)

by inserting, immediately after the words “the prescribed period” in subsection (4), the words “for the payment of any renewal fee under subsection (2)”.
