Amendment of section 26

Section 26 of the Women’s Charter is amended —

(a)

by deleting the words “or an Assistant Registrar of Marriages” in subsection (1);

(b)

by deleting subsection (2) and substituting the following subsection:“(2) The Minister may appoint by name or office any number of public officers that may be necessary to be Assistant Registrars of Marriages for the purposes of this Act.”;

(c)

by deleting subsection (4); and

(d)

by deleting the words “Assistant Registrars and Deputy Registrars” in the section heading and substituting the word “etc.”.
