Clause 41

by inserting, immediately after the word “usage” in subsection (1), the words “before 15 September 1961”;

by inserting, immediately after subsection (1), the following subsection:“(1A) The parties to a marriage validated by section 184 may apply to the Registrar in the prescribed form to register the marriage.”;

by deleting the words “by entering the particulars thereof in the certificate of marriage” in subsection (3) and substituting the words “in the State Marriage Register”;

by deleting subsection (4); and

by deleting the words “under religion or custom” in the section heading and substituting the words “before 15 September 1961 or validated by section 184”.
