Clause 50

Authorised officers

(1)

The Authority may, in relation to any provision of this Act or its subsidiary legislation, appoint —

(a)

any of its employees;

(b)

any public officer; or

(c)

any employee of a public authority,to be an authorised officer for the purposes of that provision, either generally or for any particular case.

(2)

The Authority may delegate the exercise of all or any of the powers conferred or duties imposed upon the Authority by any provision of this Act or its subsidiary legislation, to any authorised officer, subject to any conditions or limitations that the Authority may specify; and any reference in that provision of this Act or its subsidiary legislation to the Authority includes a reference to such an authorised officer.

(3)

However, nothing in subsection (2) authorises delegating —

(a)

the power of delegation conferred by that subsection;

(b)

any power of the Authority to make subsidiary legislation; or

(c)

any other power under section 14 to any individual who is not an employee of the Authority.
