Clause 26

Saving and transitional provisions

(1)

Despite section 5 —

(a)

section 7(2) of the principal Act as in force before the date of commencement of section 5 of this Act continues to apply to or in relation to any direction made by the Commissioner of Police before that date; and

(b)

the Commissioner of Police may continue to revoke a direction made under section 7(3) of the principal Act before that date as if section 5 of this Act had not been enacted, and for this purpose, the reference to sections 4 and 6 in section 7(3) of the principal Act is to be construed as referring to section 4 of the principal Act as amended by section 3 of this Act.

(2)

For a period of 2 years after the date of commencement of any provision of this Act, the Minister may, by rules, prescribe such additional provisions of a saving or transitional nature consequent on the enactment of that provision as the Minister may consider necessary or expedient.
