Amendment of section 4
Section 4 of the principal Act is amended by deleting subsection (1) and substituting the following subsection:“(1) The Registrar must maintain a register of criminals in which must be recorded the following information and records:
the registrable particulars of an individual convicted of a registrable crime that are —
sent to the Registrar under section 10(3) or 11(7); or
recorded in the register under section 30(2)(b);
the registrable particulars —
of an individual ordered to be banished, deported or expelled and under detention in any prison or reformative training centre, that are sent to the Registrar under section 11(7) or 12; or
of an individual ordered to be removed from Singapore under the Immigration Act 1959 and under detention in any immigration depot, police station, prison or other place appointed by the Controller of Immigration mentioned in section 34(4) of that Act, that are sent to the Registrar under section 11(8);
the registrable particulars of an individual —
convicted of any offence committed within, and registrable under the law of, Malaysia; or
ordered to be banished, deported or expelled from Malaysia,sent to the Registrar by any officer of Malaysia who is authorised by the law of that territory to send the registrable particulars for registration;
the registrable particulars of an individual —
convicted of any offence in, or banished, deported or expelled from, any place outside the principal registration area; and
whose registration is approved under section 5,sent to the Registrar by the officer in charge of any criminal records, register of criminals or prison in the place outside the principal registration area.”.
