Amendment of section 41

Section 41 of the principal Act is amended —

(a)

by deleting the word “The” in subsection (1) and substituting the words “Subject to subsection (1A), the”; and

(b)

by inserting, immediately after subsection (1), the following subsection:“(1A) The Controller may compound any offence under Part 3AA or any regulations made for that Part, which is prescribed as a compoundable offence, by collecting from a person reasonably suspected of having committed the offence a sum not exceeding $5,000.”.
