Amendment of section 97
Section 97 of the principal Act is amended by deleting subsection (1) and substituting the following subsections:“(1) Subject to subsection (1A), the Authority may appoint any person to exercise any of its powers or perform any of its functions or duties under this Act, either generally or in any particular case, except —
the power of appointment conferred by this subsection; and
the power to make subsidiary legislation.(1A) The Authority may, by notification in the Gazette, appoint one or more of its officers to exercise the power under section 112(2) to grant an exemption to a particular person, or in respect of any registered business trust, matter or transaction (not being an exemption granted to a class of persons or in respect of a class of registered business trusts, matters or transactions), or to revoke any such exemption.”.
