Amendment of section 4
Section 4 of the Accountants Act 2004 is amended —
(a)
by deleting the words “subsection (2), appoint from among its members” in subsection (1) and substituting the words “subsections (2) and (2A), appoint from among its members or from among other persons”;
(b)
by inserting, immediately after subsection (2), the following subsection:“(2A) At least 3 members of the Oversight Committee must be members of the Authority.”; and
(c)
by inserting, immediately after subsection (5), the following subsection:“(6) For the purposes of the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority Act 2004, a member of the Oversight Committee is deemed to be a member of a committee of the Authority.”.
