Amendment of Schedule
(1)
The Schedule to the Accountants Act 2004 is amended —
by deleting paragraph 1 and substituting the following paragraph:“1. The Chairperson of the Oversight Committee must be appointed by the Authority, with the approval of the Minister, from among the members of the Oversight Committee who are members of the Authority.”;
by deleting the words “may appoint” in paragraphs 2 and 5 and substituting in each case the words “may, with the approval of the Minister, appoint”; and
by inserting, immediately after the words “at any time” in paragraph 3, the words “and with the approval of the Minister”.

If the Accountants (Amendment) Bill (Bill 25 of 2022) is passed and assented to, and section 20(a) of the Accountants (Amendment) Act 2022 comes into force before subsection (1) comes into force, the reference to the Schedule to the Accountants Act 2004 in subsection (1) is to be read as a reference to the First Schedule to that Act.
