New section 43C
The principal Act is amended by inserting, immediately after section 43B, the following section:“Programmes for children43C.—
In any proceedings for divorce or nullity of marriage where there is a child of the parties, the Court may advise one or both parties to secure the child’s completion of a programme for children.(2) Advice under subsection (1) may be given at any stage of the proceedings for divorce or nullity of marriage.(3) Where the Court has given advice under subsection (1), every party to whom the advice was given must comply with the advice.(4) If any advice under subsection (1) is not complied with, the Court may make any order it sees fit.(5) In this section, “programme for children” means any programme, counselling, psychological service, assessment or other activity —
carried out for the purpose of helping a child handle the impact of the dissolution or annulment of his or her parents’ marriage; and (b)the form, contents and duration of which are determined by the Minister.”.
