Clause 11

by deleting the word “The” and substituting the words “Subject to subsection (2), the”;

by deleting the words “sections 11 and 13” and substituting the words “sections 11, 11A, 12 and 13”; and

by renumbering the section as subsection (1) of that section, and by inserting immediately thereafter the following subsections:“(2) A person seeking to be a candidate for election to the office of President may be refused entry to the place of nomination unless —

the person is issued a political donation certificate under section 18(4) of the Political Donations Act 2000; and

the person is accompanied by 6 other persons as his or her proposer, seconder and assentors.(3) Subsection (2) only applies to the initial entry of a person seeking to be a candidate for an election to the place of nomination for that election.”.
