Amendment of section 8
Section 8 of the principal Act is amended by inserting, immediately after subsection (2), the following subsection:“(3) If an application for a certificate of eligibility is made by a person who is below 45 years of age as at nomination day or, if there is more than one nomination day, the latest of those days —
(a)
the Presidential Elections Committee is not required to consider the application; and
(b)
the application is deemed to be withdrawn.”.
