in subsection (1), replace “No” with “Subject to subsection (1B), no”;

in subsection (1)(b), replace “by the Minister” with “by the Registrar”;

in subsection (1)(b), delete “, unless the written permission of the Minister to so act is first obtained”; (d)after subsection (1), insert —“(1A) A person who is prohibited from acting as an officer of a registered society or a branch of the registered society under subsection (1) may apply to the Minister for permission to act as an officer of the registered society or a branch of the registered society.(1B) An application under subsection (1A) may be granted by the Minister if the Minister thinks fit to do so.”; and (e)in subsection (2), replace “this section” with “subsection (1)”.
