Amendment of section 10

In the principal Act, in section 10 —

(a)

in subsection (1), replace “notice under his hand” with “written notice”; and

(b)

replace subsection (4) with —“(4) A person who, in response to any order mentioned in subsection (1) —

(a)

intentionally alters, suppresses or destroys —

(i)

any information concerning a registered society; or (ii)any document, account or book of a registered society,that is required under the order to be furnished to the Registrar or Assistant Registrar; or

(b)

in providing any document, account or book of a registered society, makes any statement which the person knows or ought reasonably to know is, or is reckless as to whether it is, false or misleading in a material particular,shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $10,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 months or to both.”.
