Amendment of section 7

In the Gas Act, in section 7 —

(a)

in subsection (3), after paragraph (g), insert —“(ga)for the purpose referred to in section 6(1)(ga), a gas importer’s licence (central import);”;

(b)

in subsection (3)(h), after “gas importer’s licence”, insert “(non‑central import)”; and

(c)

after subsection (11), insert —“(11A) A gas importer’s licence (central import) must not be granted to more than one person.(11B) To avoid doubt, where a person holding a gas importer’s licence (central import) provides gas to a prescribed generation entity that is not a direct access customer, the provision is by way of a retail of the gas.”.
