Amendment of section 5
In the Organised Crime Act 2015, in section 5 —
(a)
after subsection (1), insert —“(1A) Any person who is or acts as a member of a group, knowing that the group is a locally‑linked organised criminal scam group, commits an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $100,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 5 years or to both, and shall also be punished with caning with not less than 6 strokes.”; and
(b)
in subsection (2), replace “subsection (1)” with “subsection (1) or (1A)”.
