Amendment of section 79
In the Road Traffic Act, in section 79(4) —
(a)
replace “A person convicted of an offence under subsection (1) is, unless the court for special reasons thinks fit to order otherwise and without prejudice to the power of the court to order a longer period of disqualification” with “A court convicting a person of an offence under subsection (1) is to, unless the court for special reasons thinks fit to not order or to order a shorter period of disqualification, order that the person”;
(b)
in paragraphs (a) and (b), delete “to”; and
(c)
in paragraphs (a) and (b), replace “of not less than” with “that is equal to or longer than”.
